What’s on my mind? Pastor! Being a pastor! Read pastor for a genuine minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor is one of the five fold ministries mentioned in the book of Ephesians 4:11-12. When God is Calling anyone to serve Him, He never makes a conference Call. He never makes a Breaking News announcement- although He May use those whom He May prefer to let an individual know something they’ve seen or that has been revealed in one way or another- He Himself is not an author of confusion and will the His target know what He’s upto. This Call of God in an individual comes with different feelings, decisions required, need to reflect, understand and of course respond. To The Call and The Caller! A Call from God is not an easy one to respond to – from a personal experience! It requires Faith (assurance that the Caller knows what He’s doing Calling you), but it comes with uncertainty as well. It requires total surrender- yet not everyone will understand what’s happening… some people look at you as desperate; others think you looking for a validation of some kind; some think it’s the norm so mentally sharp who become pastors/ministers of God and so you’ve gotten a point of hiding your folly or something; some think you’re looking for support (I’m still in shock that very respectable individuals thought of a person that this individual joined a certain movement for support despite the person taking over five years to pray and ask God if it would be the right direction to take joining this movement)- remember God never called them, but He was working in the life of this individual- so only God would understand this decision; but He always has witnesses. I don’t know what God has Called you to do, but remember it wasn’t a press conference; it’s yiu He spoke to. It’s you He revealed Himself to. It’s you He gave the assignment to. Only you knows what transpired. Though He will have witnesses to confirm and guide you in the direction that He wants yiu to take, remember it was you He called. May I submit this to you- that God is not ignorant of what He has called you to do. Life and realities of life push us to desire to explain ourselves to people- and yes, accountability is key in ministry; but remember not to lose your focus on the Caller. Hold yourself together and keep your eyes on the cross. Pain is real, but Jesus experienced pain for the world to be saved- are we Jesus? Could we ever be? But He has Called to persevere in the work. We shall be shamed, doubted, criticized- sometimes praised, adored and even public displayed- but don’t forget that private place that Caller called you. Many pastors/ genuine ministers cry in private, wash up in the morning and get to the “pulpits” and deliver words of hope; many are sleeping hungry, they struggle with personal issues; they are attacked by the enemy as they try and stand with their congregants in different areas of life. Is it a wonder that many end up committing suicide and what is the response from even people they ministered to closely? How can a pastor kill Themselves? These pastors will show us things! (Read in Kikamba since that Hod I’ve thought). If there’s anything I could say to encourage you servant of God (in whatever capacity), remember the private space the Caller Called you from! Don’t be discouraged by the empty chairs, or get puffed up by the full church; do not be discouraged by your one suit and heel bent shoe, nor be puffed up by the neat look that you’ve been enabled to have; do not take your life because of gossip and misunderstanding, nor fill your ego with the praises from your constituency. Walk with God! Remember your assignment should primarily be ordered by The Owner; The Caller! May your heart be healed of the Lord God, you whose heart has badly been crushed as you serve The Caller!
